Dreams: Spiritual Compass of the Nightwatch

Throughout the timeline of humanity since the first man received breath, the Spirit has constantly remained hovering over the earth. Our natural realm is encompassed with a superior dimension, a spiritual matrix full of limitless mysteries waiting to invest themselves into our personal lives. Everything we are surrounded with in our spheres of influence ALL have their native origins in the invisible world. Hebrews 11:3 speaks of this fascinating reality of resources constantly flowing between the invisible & natural, ultimately the invisible is greater than the natural because it existed first. Dreams are one of many important languages with which we receive correspondence from the spiritual world. The Spirit wants to see that this flow continues between heaven and earth towards each one of us! Creator wants to release messages through dreams & visions during the night! Besides the rare case of having a sleeping disorder it is scientifically proven that all people dream whether you remember them or not. An interesting fact to ponder on: By the time you reach 60 years of age you will have slept 20 years of your life, 1/3 of our earthly calling is investing in dreaming. Knowing this, how much more important is it that we steward & understand our dreams on a daily basis? “For God does speak–now one way, now another–though man may not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men as they slumber in their beds,” Job 33:12-14 Are dreams a simple case of a child’s imagination, too much pizza or only fantasies of the mind? Consider these testimonies: When Harriet Tubman, the renown runaway slave during the 1800’s in America, found freedom, much of her success in escaping was through warning dreams. Through direction from a “Higher Power” she would see in visionary form which path to take and which one was a trap where her captors were waiting. Dreams are a big deal. Just ask Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon and Pharaoh of Egypt who through having their dreams unlocked by mystics like Daniel and Joseph, yielded and opened themselves to the belief in a “Higher Power” that was beyond their control and comprehension. All three of these historical examples changed the course of human history. Our culture uses the term “not everybody are called as famous leaders but all have should have leadership qualities.” In the same way, ALL PEOPLE DREAM and according to the grace given are called to a certain level of understanding, but NOT ALL are DREAM INTERPRETERS. It takes years to develop this gift and is NOT a microwave gimmick that is an instant fix. It is a lifestyle and a culture we can choose to cultivate or choose not. Dreams have many layers, dimensions and depth to them. I invite you, no matter what level of understanding you have in this area, to join me in answering the heavenly call. To conclude let us look at what the notable Book of Revelation says about this invitation: “…Come up here and I will show you things which must take place after this.” Revelation 4:1

Dislocated

Wow it has been nearly an entire year since I have written one of my blogs about spirituality. Life has definitely taken over the past year and I have not had time to meditate or pour into another article. However now is the time to deliver another! Thank you for your patience! Foreigners & Strangers on Earth No matter what your belief is on spirituality, God, heaven or hell, big bang theory and the afterlife one thing is clear and that is the length of our journey here on this planet. The truth is each one of is on a limited time crunch and eventually we will all run our race to the very end. If one can summarize the objective of humanity you could say it would be to embark upon a personal quest to find purpose and meaning as to why we were born. Everywhere around us we can look and see on our left and right people who are on this endless mission to find fulfillment and a sense of belonging. “Remember, we are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” – Stephen Covey These words especially resonated deep within some of our ancient hebraic forefathers in the text of Hebrews 11. This noteworthy chapter of scripture describes many of the heroes of old who were described as the fathers and mothers of faith. “All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.” Hebrews 11:13 Have you ever tried to fit in before to groups you thought would welcome you with open arms and were soundly rejected? Has the thought ever entered your mind that you do not fit in with the status quo? Have you ever been labelled weird, strange, rebellious toward “authority” and ask too many questions? If you said yes to one or more of these questions then you are a spiritually conscious and free person who is already on a pilgrimage for your full inheritance in life. If you resonate with any of these scenarios then you are far ahead of the majority of the crowd. You are beginning to understand that you are a spiritual pilgrim that is becoming free of the Matrix of control, manipulation, hierarchy and institutional indoctrination. Ultimately you are dislocated from what people call normal and acceptable…and this is completely ok. You Do Not Belong Here Over 4 years ago I was with my parents meeting with a particular Charismania minister who many would call a radical, revolutionary leader in the Body of Christ. Since the time we met with this man he has become the pastor of a large church in Northern California in the USA. This large international ministry was where we went to bible college as a family. Worldwide it is recognized as a supernatural ministry school and training centre that claims to raise up and release revivalists. To keep a long story short my family went to attend the school, learn and eventually hoped to serve and be a part of what God was doing in that church. We had plans to partner and co-labor and assist in penetrating Africa and doing missionary work overseas as well as “serve the vision of the leaders there”. For over a decade we had already been involved before we even attending the school in many voyages to Africa and missions work and been a part of ministry training workshops, outreaches, church plants and countless activities to reach people in unconventional ways for Christ. Unfortunately from the day we arrived we were marked for whatever reason based on “a feeling” that the supposed in house prophet had about our family. No explanation was given other than “he had a feeling” about us and refused to work with us to see our dream come true to serve in Africa and in their church. We tried finding out the truth and why we were marked…but no answers were given. We were stonewalled each time we tried pursuing the truth. Finally after many trials, circumstances and scenarios we came to the office of this “minister” who today is the pastor of that church. Knowing our entire story, knowing our hearts, knowing our desire to serve their vision…knowing they had an entire family that was willing to give their entire lives to the call of God and he looked at us and said with complete disdain: “Why are you still here? What is left for you here?” What was said afterwards really did not mean much to me as I knew at that moment that there was no future to be had with this ministry. It hit me at that moment that I was truly Dislocated from organized institutional religion. I simply did not fit their grid or paradigm and they simply wanted me and my family out. Years later I look back and am thankful that those questions were asked of me. Why was I wasting my time there? Could I benefit and grow in my spirituality by staying there? The obvious answer is no. Their ceiling was not my floor as they liked to claim week after week from the pulpit…no their ceiling was my lid. Furthermore they had no ability to turn their love button on for my family and I but they selectively can and will for those who will become their clones. The Living Oracles

The times we live in increasingly have become chaotic and freaky in many ways.   Politics, the economy, relationships and constant evolving circumstances for all of us make things either very dark or very bright.  It is our decision on how we handle the curves life throws at us and also what source we draw our strength from.  This article for the spring entitled “The Living Oracles” addresses these things and more. Being the Letter There are many things that humanity is crying out for in this generation that we live in.  Equal rights, worldwide peace, honest government, quality of life, the freedom to speak, the ability to choose and act freely without fear of punishment etc.  However there is one value in particular I believe every single person on our planet would stand in firm agreement on without question… What is this one thing that all people are looking for? Answer:  People are looking for individuals whose words and lives are in complete, parallel alignment toward each other.   People of character who will back up their own personal creeds with action.   2 Corinthians 3:3 “You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody.” Everywhere you turn in this world one cannot escape the unquenchable thirst and bottomless appetite people have for true authenticity.   Sadly though it seems like every week we hear of another news story where we discover another politician, athlete, religious leader or public figure is not who they said they were who has fallen.  These individuals have lost their prominence because of their lack of character and integrity. Every single fall of an empire or the dismantling of a person’s legacy in history can be traced back to one simple fact.   At one point or another whether it was one person/group of people they failed to walk out the ideals that they promised at the beginning of their reign. Lesson #1: Let us strive to be authentic and treat our words like gold so that our feet can fulfill what we have spoken. One of the greatest boxing fighters in history who really talked a big talk behind the microphone put those words to action in his fights.  After declaring what he would do to his opponents, how great he was in the ring and what he could do this man ultimately delivered on one big stage after another.  He knocked down opponent after opponent overwhelming favorites who were supposed to handle him easily according to experts.  The reason why he defied the odds and emerged victorious is because Muhammad Ali trained behind the scenes when the cameras were off, when the lights were down and nobody was watching.   IT was in those moments that defined his legacy.  He worked on matching his “trash talk” with brute force in the ring. “It’s not bragging if you can back it up.” ~ Muhammad Ali Mobile Temple Many of you know that I currently work for a wireless communications company in my hometown here in Kelowna, BC Canada called Telus Mobility.  I sell people cell phones, internet and TV services on a daily basis.  It’s a great job and I make a good living on it.  However what some of you may not be aware of is that before becoming involved in the role of business solutions with Telus as a sales representative for my company, before becoming a model with a local modeling agency here in Kelowna called DeJavu Model Management I was on a career path to become a full time minister of the gospel.   For the first 25 years of my life including childhood I was raised with the belief that I would go into the local church establishment as it was and reform it from the inside out.  My family and I gave precious years of our lives to the religious institutional system serving “the ministry” and giving our time, finances and very lives to what we thought was the “church”.  We traveled overseas to many countries and I myself went to Africa, Europe, Asia, Central America etc bringing the good news to the poor and destitute preaching to audiences of dozens, hundreds, thousands and even millions on the radio since the age of 17 whenever I was given the opportunity. But to keep a long story short over the years I discovered through many “trials through fire” dishonesty, corrupt leaders, broken promises, deep betrayal but most of all that the religious local institutional church system was not following it’s organic, authentic spiritual roots.   I discovered that the church empire was and still is perpetuating the lie that you must go to a building to be spiritual, that you must “submit under proper authority” when in fact the owner’s operation manual they claim to follow “the bible” says otherwise. 1 Corinthians 3:16 “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?” Over 2000 years ago Jesus came on a mission to the earth to set mankind free, he walked the earth, did wonders, opposed the empire system, confronted the religious leaders of his day, pointed to a greater superior kingdom and fulfilled his destiny as God who took on flesh and became one of us.  This is my personal belief that Jesus came to give each one of us a heavenly access point to the Creator.  A place where we could find God without having to submit to the religious systems, or any of the false empires that man has ever created. What is the lie organized religion tell us?  Answer: That if we do not attend a local organized church, synagogue, mosque, or religious institution and submit to a pastor/leader we cannot be in correct alignment with the Creator. Truth: You are the temple, the gate, the ladder between heaven and earth and you do not need to yield to any institutional religious system to prove you are connected with God. “Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth.” John F. Kennedy  Do not follow the religious crowd that is chained to empire!   If you are the temple of God, the gate of the Spirit of Life and the ladder to the Creator then YOU DO NOT NEED to attend any specific location, adhere to religious rules or submit underneath any mega church, ministry machine or institutional system! Be free, be the gate and allow God to flow through you, for you and with you! Pass It On Organized religion and institutionalism will always try to stifle and control those who are searching as spiritual pilgrims for their heavenly home.   The main thing is to stay childlike, full of wonder, awe and desire.  Children see the world through different lenses than adults.  Children are searching for the next adventure, their eyes are spiritually awakened much more than grownups so there is something we can learn from them.   A great man named Albert Einstein puts it beautifully. “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom the emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand wrapped in awe, is as good as dead —his eyes are closed. The insight into the mystery of life, coupled though it be with fear, has also given rise to religion. To know what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty, which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their most primitive forms—this knowledge, this feeling is at the center of true religiousness.”  – Albert Einstein   During the birth of the true early “organic church” one of the greatest confrontations ever recorded in the Bible in The Book of Acts between a mystic revolutionary called Stephen and the religious institutional system called the Sanhedrin clearly shows what Einstein touches on.   The tension between the abusive empire system and the freedom of spiritual pilgrims is shown as a power struggle between those who claim they can see versus one who actually can.  Stephen speaks about Israel’s history to the religious leaders the Sanhedrin in this discourse and discusses the role of Moses who was one of the founding fathers of living the mystical lifestyle in communion with God. Acts 7:38  “This is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our fathers. He received living oracles to give to us.” Living oracles can also be translated as “words of wonder that are alive and active that can be transferred from one person to another.” Secret: This is the key that institutional religion and the empires of man do not want you to know!   That you are a living oracle because you came from God, you are spirit and you have the ability to connect and release heaven to others!!!    You do not need to submit to any man, you only need to look to the Spirit of Life that is within you. Commission: You are a mystery, a vibrant living and active spirit that is clothed with a body that has the ability to access God at any time!!!   You DO NOT need organized religion or to submit to anybody’s covering to have permission to speak to the Creator or to connect with God himself.  Since you yourself are a temple you can step into communion with God at any moment you choose…All you have to do is ask the Holy Spirit to awaken your spiritual eyes to see. You are the oracle, the letter, the beaming beacon of light that people should come into contact with, look at and be inspired by.  People ought to be filled with awe when they are in your presence, after embracing your light they should immediately begin to be filled with wonder and awe with a desire to pursue something greater than themselves. Remember: Bring the temple wherever you go, every step you take is holy ground no matter where it is and finally be the written letter that speaks of a greater reality than what we are experiencing right now.  Be an oracle and restore wonder to the earth.

Valhalla

Race for Eternity All are on this open road of unknown adventure with each of us pointed towards the invisible horizon called destiny.   Ultimately that day beckons us, the hour draws nearer with each passing moment, drawing us closer like gravity…we cannot control what is about to happen…time and humanity eventually will meet for the final chapter on yet another soul which will graduate from earth to sky.   While running this race we may not agree on politics, religion, science or ideologies but one thing that is a resounding yes across the ages, greater than any material prize, causing the seas of humanity to rise to their feet and applaud the great race is this bond between the heart of man, the eternal sunset and the everlasting dawn…it is what we hope we will find when looking back upon the memory of our lives as written with living ink as we cross the finish line to a resounding roar…it is this pearl called legacy, a planet in an endless galaxy called eternity. Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.” When I am old I want to look back on the architecture of my life, the pillars of my journey and through the windows of my understanding and find that I embraced the light with my whole heart and did not waste a single dawn or allow sunset to commence until I had come to an understanding with the Author of Life, until I had stood before the council of destiny and been declared worthy to pass through the curtain of time and into the eternal temple and join those who have gone before me and be with my God and meet my Maker. Grant Me This Honor I have spoken to you about this great race for eternity, about my desire to finish strong in life, touched on legacy and now I want to share with you an example from history that struck me, something that will illustrate what I am talking about.  Lately I have been hooked on the new TV series on History Channel called Vikings and have been fascinated by the history behind these fearsome warriors who I knew very little about before watching the show.  I decided to do some further research after watching the TV series and it confirmed much of what I saw in the show.  Here is some of what we know about the Vikings: Over 1200 years ago western culture was first introduced to a ferocious people called the Vikings when they came to the shores of England in 787 A.D and attacked by raiding monasteries and farms throughout Great Britain until they eventually clashed with the Kings of England and their armies in larger scale battles.  These were a fearsome people who originated in Scandinavia who’s main art was warfare and they were not afraid of death nor were they focused on earth alone…but their eyes reached beyond the horizons of the earth and into the everlasting sunrise of the heavens.  The Vikings believed that beyond the veil of the earth there was a kingdom in the spiritual realms called Valhalla (hall of the slain) where all those who had gone on before dwelt and were waiting for them to join them in feasting and celebration, a place where loved ones were gathered to celebrate lives that had been lived to the fullest extent of honor, courage and devotion to themselves, each other and to their gods.   But the key to reaching Valhalla according to the Vikings was to die in glorious fashion without bowing to fear but fighting to the very end by living every moment as if it were your last and living a life that was pleasing to God.   So Viking warriors would throw themselves into overwhelming circumstances and battles and would sacrifice all for courage and honor, hoping and praying that they would be granted the privilege of reaching Valhalla to eat and drink and celebrate in the presence of their family, friends who had already died and were waiting for them in heaven. This is this picture that I was given in my spirit when I asked the Holy Spirit my God in whom I believe in for 2015.  In the scriptures we can find a perfect example to back up the direction where the Vikings truly had their hearts in.  In the history of Israel one of the greatest stories of legacy being completed and another beginning simultaneously, of a mentor graduating into glory and the successor stepping into the whirlwind was the account of Elijah and Elisha.  Similar to the Vikings in order for Elisha to receive the blessing it required a violent and unquenchable appetite for courage and an ability to pursue his inheritance to the point of fearlessness.  Time after time in the verses preceding the ones I am about to share with you Elijah said to Elisha stay here I am going elsewhere to this place and that place…but with each answer Elisha refused to fall behind and miss the bigger picture, he had come too far on his own personal journey of heavenly enlightenment…he saw his own star called legacy which was glimmering in the eye of eternity, waiting for him in the heart of El-Roi “The God Who Sees”, daring Elisha to follow in hot pursuit and pursue he did… 2 Kings 2:9-12  “When they had crossed over, Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask what I shall do for you before I am taken from you.” And Elisha said, “Please, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.” He said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.”  As they were going along and talking behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire which separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven.  Elisha saw it and cried out, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!” And he saw Elijah no more. Then he took hold of his own clothes and tore them in two pieces.”  Graduation Remarks Both Elisha and Elijah went through a spiritual window which the Vikings of old called a “Rite of Passage” a graduation from one place in life to another, from one social status to the next, from one function to another.   Many times when a young boy would grow to maturity to the age in which he swore allegiance to his local ruling lord or king it was called a “Rite of Passage”.  Elisha had stepped into another realm of responsibility while Elijah went on into glory and reached his own Valhalla which believers of Yahweh (and my personal belief) is called in accordance with Hebrews 12  “The great cloud of witnesses”.   He had reached his home in the clouds where his testimony would remain secure, his legacy established and his eternal resting place in the heart of his Maker the Almighty. The key for Elisha to receive the double portion that would establish his own legacy was seeing where his master Elijah was going into the heavens.  The vital whirlwind access point that would sustain Elisha’s rite of passage was the very act of tearing his old clothes, the archaic way of doing things, perspectives and leaving behind previous responsibilities that would make way for the new. So in the Year 2015 I believe it is important for us to look to the future, to our graduation papers called legacy and desire to reach our Valhalla, hall of those who have gone on before, the great cloud of witnesses and embrace our Maker and God who is Himself eternity and desires us to live there forever. Rise

Chosen Around the late 12th Century A.D a man called Balian of Ibelin set off on a quest to the Middle East to join as a Crusader in the Holy War.  His journey would take him from his home in France, to Italy across the Mediterranean Sea all the way to the Holy Land and ultimately the city of Jerusalem.  The coming days, months and years that would follow were brutal and merciless.  War is hell and the casualties that followed proved that.   Horrific atrocities were committed by both sides sadly in the name of God.  Balian’s name would be remembered in history for rallying the Crusaders to a heroic defence of Jerusalem against Saladin and the Saracens.  Though the Crusade of the 12th century fought between Christian & Muslim, Crusader & Saracen has long since faded into memory there are still conflicts that run deep to the core of our culture in the 21st century today as we speak.  Whether Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, Atheist, New-Ager, Polytheist, Spiritualist or whatever your conviction is there are things we can learn from the knight called Balian. In the 2003 movie Kingdom of Heaven directed by Ridley Scott, Balian is portrayed in one of the final scenes of the movie rallying the people of Jerusalem to one final stand against the looming attack to come by Saladin and the Saracens.   The problem that Balian and the remaining men face is that there are no knights left to fight…only peasants and a few soldiers but not knights…so Balian decides that rank, title nor nobility matter at this point…and he delivers a monumental, stirring speech calling for every man to take up arms and fight for the people.    I sincerely believe this call is being presented to all people, the men and women of our day, age and society…there could not be a more relevant commission in my opinion at this hour than this one. Balian: “Be without fear in the face of your enemies…be brave and upright that God may love thee…speak the truth even if it leads to your death…safeguard the helpless…rise a knight.”  The key components, contents of this commission are what I want to break down and see what we can do to apply them to our lives today as we speak. Be…Without Fear To be brutally honest the days we live in if you look at them without believing in something greater than yourself and living a virtuous life can look pretty dark, frightening, hopeless, fake, plastic and narcissistic.  As I am writing this to you our present reality on the planet is: wars that are raging all across the earth, shootings almost every week in America, ISIS radicals are butchering, pillaging, raping and killing their own people, ebola and other lethal diseases are rampant, the cost of living is increasing all around the world, natural disasters are rocking the earth, celebrities and people are exalting and making names for themselves and selling out, doing whatever it takes to get to the top, dishonest politicians and corrupt leaders seek to control the government and the economies of the world’s major nations and the big one…social media is at an all time crazy high placing unrealistically high expectations on men and women to attain to this perfect status and to do whatever is necessary to get there lie, cheat, steal, sleep around and make unrighteous alliances with darkness.   I would like to propose to you there is a better alternative, a greater plan and a higher way that we were designed for that brings fulfillment, light and a bond of unity between brothers and sisters that is so powerful it cannot be broken…it is called living the life without the fear of man…death or any circumstance. “People living deeply have no fear of death.” Anais Nin  When fear is not a factor it is because we as individuals are living a life that goes beyond the surface…we are looking to a higher office, to a different dimension, an entirely new playing field.   Personally when I love my friends it reminds me why I was created and that is to shine, be a beacon of energy, encouragement and point to something that defies the circumstances of what I see with my natural eyes.  When I exude love to my buddies that very act demands that time stand still and witness my light being transferred into their spirit that dispels fears, insecurities and hopefully will be a good example to them that they may pass it on. 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love…perfect love drives out fear.” Be…Brave & Upright Conquering fear can only be done through possessing a courage that is accessed by uniting bravery and morals together as one living entity.   In today’s culture this is a great challenge especially when social media, culture and society tells us the most important things are being somebody who is socially popular, relevant and agrees with the status quo, individually you must be sexually attractive, wealthy and have a lifestyle that everybody should be jealous over. Am I saying that having friends, being popular, being sexy, having money and having a great life that people want is bad?   Answer: No…but what I am saying is what you do with that power and the social pressure that is put on people to reach unrealistic goals is what makes it unhealthy. 1 Samuel 16:7  “…People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” For those of you who have been following my journey I have been a model in the fashion industry for just over a year now and I have some experience of knowing what it feels like to be judged, weighed and critiqued by my outward appearance.  This is the reality the bread and butter of the fashion world as you must possess the right look international scouts, agencies and people are looking for in you.  However there is a phrase that comes into play and it is: “never judge a book by it’s cover.”  and how true is this? Fact: As models our bodies will eventually grow old and expire but our spirits will last forever.   What is on the inside counts just as much as what is on the outside…what we do and how we conduct ourselves uprightly in our lives will determine how far we truly go in life.   There is more to this quest we call existence than what meets the natural eye. “Every action in our lives touches on some chord that will vibrate in eternity.” – Edwin Hubbel Chapin Speak the Truth & Safeguard the Helpless This one is very self-explanatory we must speak what is true and what is right no matter what the cost.  Lying, cheating and dishonesty unfortunately have become popular in our culture and are used as tools to advance further up the social ladders of success.  Gone are the days when honesty, integrity and morals were the things that promoted you whether in your job, as a political figure, in the arts or entertainment industry etc.  The crowd mentality in the world today is to oppose much of what is true and accept several ideologies which are false all in the name of peace and agreeing with the majority. “All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.” Arthur Schopenhauer However I believe what goes around comes around…if you sow truth you will reap it…we cannot judge by mere numbers alone by how many people are for or against something…ultimately one must be ruled by conscience and use our convictions to free others from the shackles of intimidation and the obstacles of life. RISING to the Commission? Taking all things into account of Balian’s commission we spoke about… How do we apply this into our personal lives in the day and age we live in? How do we rise and become vessels of integrity and hope to the world around us?    How do we have no fear in the face of our enemies, be brave & upright, speak the truth even if it leads to death (whether socially, physically or paying some sort of cost by speaking the truth), safeguard the helpless? Answer:  A good place to start and what I will leave you with as a commission to rise is this: Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” As a man thinks in his heart so is he…you are what you believe you will become. Lone Survivor

We Stand Alone No matter what anybody says or does to try to avoid this reality…you cannot escape it.  At the end of our days, when the years of our destiny on this side of heaven have come to a conclusion we will give an account as to what we did with our lives.   Whatever you believe about spirituality whether you believe in God or not, a heaven and hell or just nothing ALL OF US will face the final test…and we will do it alone. There will be no riches, fame, friends, family no not even your spouse can speak on your behalf…it is between you and that which anchors your spirit. The words of the simple shepherd boy in Israel in the bible who became famous after he killed the giant Goliath come to my mind.   The Psalmist is quote as saying: Psalm 90:12 “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” We are adrift in a sea of humanity, each with choices we are faced with every day and decisions that can only be made through reaching down deep within the depths of our hearts.  The world we live in is a beautiful place but it is in chaos with hardship, trials and obstacles seemingly within arms reach at every moment.  There are things that are beyond comprehension, that cannot be explained…atrocities against mankind that speak of a greater battle that is waging beneath the visible surface of earth…there is darkness and there is light.  Each are entitled to their own opinions and that is the great thing about living in free nations like we do we can explore and practice our belief systems as we see fit. I will be open and honest with you…I believe that it is impossible to function, move and breathe without “Kadosh Ruah Yah” (The Holy Breath of God) flowing through our lungs and entire being.   I look around at this beautiful creation and every person that I have the pleasure to know and love and think to myself…it is impossible for there not to be a God in heaven who is looking out for us.  When we stand alone and have nobody else to turn to the Spirit of God is there to give life and light. John 1:4 “In Him was Life and that light was the (zoe) light of mankind.” The world is in need of light…so much of the media, people’s focus and attention is on darkness but we need to be a light in all circumstances and in all places. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”   Martin Luther King Jr. No Compromise Marcus Luttrell and his men were a part of a US Navy Seals special ops team in a mission called Operation Red Wings which was a combined joint military operation during the War in Afghanistan (2001–present) the operation was intended to disrupt local hostile militia “The Taliban” that were stopping the USA and their allies from making progress in instating democracy and freedom in the region.   The op quickly went horribly wrong and Marcus and his men were faced with making a terrible decision that could ultimately cost them their lives. For those of you who haven’t seen the movie “Lone Survivor” that came out in 2012 based on this epic true story I won’t play spoiler but I will say that the journey that Marcus and his squad went through to reach the end and ultimately freedom was costly and required each man to look further than the current chaos they all faced.  These men were behind enemy lines facing the vicious Taliban militia, cut off from the rest of their squad and faced with overwhelming obstacles, outnumbered and outgunned.   The choice they made at the end affected future generations and therefore was a decision that was equally based on what was to come and also what was presently happening. So when we are in tough scenarios what is the main thing we should ask for?  Answer: Ephesians 1:18   I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people. We need our inner eyes to see deeper, further and beyond than what is just on the surface.  When we stand alone we must look to the higher office and ask God for wisdom on how to count and number our days…we must choose to be light in a dark world. In closing I will leave you with the words of US NAVY Seal Marcus Luttrell a man who embodies the title “Lone Survivor”. “There’s a storm inside of us. I’ve heard many team guys speak of this. A burning. A river. A drive.  An unrelenting desire to push yourself harder and further than anyone could think possible”
